华侨血泪Centered on the wealthy Yang family during the Japanese Occupation, the film shows the wartime clash between colonials, collaborators, and resistance forces. Filled with intrigue, betrayal and sacrifice, the issues of class, ideologies behind the formation of the overseas Chinese as a diasporic community are explored. Restored by the China Film Archive and subtitled by the Asian Film Archive, this immediate post-war local film is a historical document on the urban landscape of post-war Singapore and Malaya.
